Cat Health: Flea Treatment

All of our flea preparations are highly effective prescription only medicines that are not available in the shops. Some anti-flea preparations available over the counter in shops are not completely effective and/or can cause serious side effects in some animals, for example permethrin which is very toxic to cats.

We have available a range of treatments to kill or prevent flea infestations, some which can be used from two weeks of age. The range includes sprays, spot-ons, injections and oral medicines that are effective for between one to six months depending on the product prescribed for your pet.

Some flea treatments are also effective against other parasites including ear mites, ticks, lice, roundworm, hookworm and heartworm but each product is different and our vets will advise you as to the most appropriate and cost effective option.
